Welcome to the Bobby Pin Blog! I started this blog because I have an unhealthy obsession with styles and practices of hair and makeup during the early and mid-20th Century. And I like to share all of this info, so consider this blog your guide to vintage beauty.

What is the Bobby Pin Blog?

The Bobby Pin Blog covers vintage hair, makeup, and nail styles and styling techniques. The history is fascinating and I will share here all of the interesting info I have collected over the years.

The blog is a place for fun, but also a place to learn. It follows the basic scientific questions we were taught in our earliest primary school classes. WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY, WHO, and HOW? The HOW, of course, is what we are most concerned about and it is the most important in recreating vintage hair and makeup looks. But all the questions that come before the HOW still make a great story and broadens are abilities overall. WHAT was the style? WHERE did it originate? WHO wore it best? The Bobby Pin Blog will cover all of these types of questions.

It will deviate from time to time, but overall…IT WILL NEVER BE BORING! Anyone who is interested in vintage, costuming and theater, beauty practices, or just outrageous fun with beauty products will enjoy the Bobby Pin Blog.

Hopefully I have made it sound to academic. Anyone who enjoys Hollywood biographies, step-by-steps, and getting creative will have fun reading this!
