The Mandarin Eyebrow
The Mandarin style eyebrow made its way to America in the 1950s from Paris style.
Origins of the Mandarin Eyebrow
The eyebrow resembles the shape of the word eyebrow in Mandarin Chinese… literally. The little flick at the left is like the curve out.
Creating it (maybe don’t try this at home)
The makeup look involved tweezing off the outer corner of the eyebrow and redrawing it with a curved flick outward. And I never recommend anyone tweeze all of any part of their eyebrows.
Not quite as odd as the squiggly eyebrow look that made its rounds on the internet last year though….
