The Curler Caddy – A Vintage Beauty Organizer for the Neat ‘n’ Busy

The beauty routine is better with pretty curler and clips organization.

I work best when I am organized. The same goes for when I am doing my hair. Organization helps me stay focused on the task and keeps me from getting overwhelmed by it.

Neat ‘n’ Busy Tray

I was so excited when I picked up this vintage hair curler caddy for storage at a flea market. I first love the name.

The words the ’50s and ’60s used to advertise to women make me giggle a little.

I almost feel slightly patronized by it… like the woman who uses it is a busy little bee making herself beautiful and not much else.

It makes me think of Betty Draper in Mad Men when her dad tells her in her dream,

“You’re a house cat.

You’re very important and you have little to do.”

But I’m probably reading too much into it… 🙂 I love the caddy anyway.

New cute curler organizers

If you are looking for your own beauty storage like this… these new options are surprisingly similar.

My main focus for finding new alternatives centered around 1. the compartments for different clips and 2. the depth of the container. These all seem to fit the bill. I broke them into the categories of free standing caddy vs. drawer organizers. (Contains affiliate links)

Free standing caddy

The modular design for this pink caddy from Etsy would be great for curlers and clips! And the handle makes it easy to move around and maybe keep under your sink?

The handle caddy is on amazon as well if that’s what you need.

Maybe you are looking for something that you can combine makeup storage with. The compartments are great on this caddy from amazon.

Don’t let the photos of this one fool you into thinking it is giant. This is actually pretty normal sized if you look at the measurements. They just used tiny little bottles to make it look bigger.

Drawer Organizers

I do not have drawers in my bathroom vanity, but for those lucky enough to have one, maybe these drawer storage options are right for you.

They are stackable as well if you want them on your counter or have one of those deep drawers in your sink vanity. This first set is from amazon.

If you have a very specific drawer size to fit your storage to… My organization brain is in love with these bins from Etsy. You get to pick the color, size, and depth custom for exactly what you need.

My curlers organized

Back when I got my hair cut into the International Convertible Hair Cut, I was so thrilled to start styling it at home.

Then, after my first washing at home, I realized my hair tool kit at home was not prepared. My round brushes were too big and my curlers were not the right kind for such a short hairstyle.

My clips and curlers organized

So I pilfered some VintageHairstyling*com stock 😉. With my magnetic rollers, end wraps, and curler clips ready to go…

Curler “hamper” caddy

Noodling around online I also found these adorable curler “hampers”. I may need to add “curler hamper” to my Ebay search notifications.

Set up Ebay notifications to grab great vintage finds

If you are a collector, that is a great way to find rare things. You can set up your Ebay account to send you notifications when certain search keywords show up in a new listing. You can also tell it to leave out certain keywords in the search in case you keep getting notifications about items that have nothing to do with what you are looking for.
